Associate ERIC J. MIERSMA concentrates his practice on the firm's residential and commercial builder cases. For over ten years, he has represented Southern California builders, contractors and design professionals in all aspects of complex construction defect litigation, contract negotiation, risk management, and insurance. He has defended clients in wrongful death and toxic tort cases as well as insurance issues.
Mr. Miersma served as judicial extern for the Honorable Judith L. Haller, Associate Justice of the California Court of Appeal. Mr. Miersma is admitted to the State Bar of California and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. As a member of the San Diego Defense Lawyers (SDDL), he currently serves on its Board of Directors as Secretary. He chairs the committee responsible for producing the annual SDDL mock trial with participating teams from across the nation. Mr. Miersma was a lecturer at the International Concrete Repair Institute’s Spring 2006 Convention and drafts a bi-monthly column for its publication, the Concrete Repair Bulletin. He is a repeat guest speaker for the Negotiation course at California Western School of Law. Mr. Miersma is the author of the 2007 and 2008 Supplements to the California chapter of the Aspen Publishers’ State-By-State Guide to Construction Contracts and Claims.
